REV. CHRISTOPHER H. NEELY
PRESIDENT
BAHAMAS CONFERENCE OF THE METHODIST CHURCH
Rev. Neely was born in New Providence to Mr. Fred Neely and the late Monica Neely. He attended St. Michael's Methodist Church where he was involved in the Junior Guild, Boy's Brigade, Youth Club, Young Adults Group, Sunday School and Music Ministry. He was actively involved with summer youth camps and retreats, at St. Michael's , in Eleuthera, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Canada and the United States. Because of his interest in youth work, he responded to the call for full time youth ministry and served at St. Michael's and in Inagua.
During the struggle for autonomy, Rev. Neely was the pivotal person at St. Michael's who led the organization of worship services, preaching, playing of hymns and the coordination of all weekly activities. His involvement led him to respond to the call to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament, Order, Service and Witness to all people.
As an ordained minister he has served in North Eleuthera and presently in Grand Bahamas where he spearheaded the construction of a new church," New Hope Methodist Church". He has served on the executive of the Bahamas Conference of the Methodist as Director of Doctrine and Polity and two terms as Assistant Secretary of Conference.
Rev. Neely attended Queen’s College and holds an Associate of Arts degree in Psychology/Sociology from the College of the Bahamas, a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology/Sociology (Cum Laude) from Howard University, and a Masters of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology, Emory University.
Because of his interest in the development of young people, he taught in the Ministry of Education High School system in Grand Bahama. He has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and meaningful family support. He is married to Roslyn Hudson Neely and they have one son, Christopher Jr.
